Here are our latest dates for our School of Junk sewing courses taking place in April / May 3 HOUR - INTRODUCTION TO SEWING Learn the ins and outs of using a sewing machine including threading and all the functions of the machine and hem, over-lock, button hole and zips. Use our machines or you are welcome to bring you own. The machines we use are brand new Elna machines. Total cost: £60 (current offer £27) New Dates: Tuesday 26th April (6-9pm) Sunday 15th May (12-3pm) 6 HOUR - A LINE DRESSMAKING COURSE As well as covering functions of the sewing machine and recycling techniques, you will learn how to make an A-Line dress from recycled materials with techniques such as - learning to read patterns, seams, finishing, customising, hemming, tailoring and darts. This unique opportunity for beginners also saves you money and reduces clothing going into landfill. Participants can choose which fabrics to use on their Tunic Dress on arrival. Leave with your very own Tunic Dress in 6 hours. Also includes basic sewing techniques, threading / tensioning sewing machines and more. All materials provided but you are welcome to bring treasured fabrics from home. Learn key skills such as working from blocks, using sewing machines, alterations and adding zips. We provide all the tools and materials required, including our very own vintage fabrics.
